Program packagesMeet the built and natural heritages of the Rába-countryMEET THE BUILT HERITAGE OF THE RÁBA-COUNTRYfrom the skirt-shape belfries to the second hugest church of HungaryA one day programme for tourists by bus, which includes: In the centre of Rába-country • In Szentgotthárd: visiting of the former “granary church”, the Baroque building complexion and the exhibition of Ágoston Pável Local History Museum. History of Szentgotthárd is presented during the walk. On the northern valley of Rába-country • In Felsőszölnök, visiting of the Roman Catholic Church and the exhibition in former vicarage. A hiking tour to the triple border along the marked hiking route. • In Alsószölnök, visiting of the Church of Our Lady (Nagyboldogasszony Church), the remarkable crosses and statues, and the nature of River Rába. • In Szakonyfalu, visiting the Roman Catholic Church and the “kopjafa” (Jousting pole stuck in a grave as a headstone) which marked the westernmost point of the country till 1990, includes a 2 hours hiking tour among the forests of Szakonyfalu with rich natural heritages. On the southern valley of Rába-country • In Apátistvánfalva, along the marked study path the typical “tóka” (small pond), traditional apiary and “pálinka” distillers, church of the settlement and the Boarder’s memorial organized in the former building of frontier can be visited. • In Kétvölgy, along the Meadow orchids study path there is a possibility to discover the peculiarities of a typical sparse settlement, admire its folk architectural heritages: the skirt-shape belfries, thatched roof harrow-walled houses, harrow walled sheds, granaries. • In Orfalu, we recommend to visit the skirt-shape belfry and the millennium memorial plaque. At the Slovenian house of regional traditions, next to the Triglav, there is a picnic facility, too.
